To get rid of odors I always refer people to http://www.aliveair.com . Essentially there are 4 best air purifier technologies for removing odor - whether mold, pets, cooking, chemicals, cigarettes, pollution or smoke.
In the video we review the following:
- 4 best odor air purifier technologies:
- best odor reducing air purifiers
- pet odor air purifier strategies
- and how each of the 4 best air purifier technologies help mold odors, dust, must, cooking odors, etc.
You may be wondering “what type of air purifier will eliminate my odor problem?” And we’ll address mold and mildew, pet odors, cooking odors, chemical fumes, and different kinds of smoke - stove, chimney, tobacco, etc. There are four types of air purifier technologies for odors. Which type of odor problems each are going to help. And, finally, some air purifier model suggestions.
Four technologies -carbon/zeolite, electrostatic, negative ion and ozone. The other types of air purification like HEPA, pre-filter, UV, Ti02 don’t do anything for odor itself,
Carbon and zeolite are both minerals. And, what makes them so effective is that they have thousands of little tiny pockets.. So as air passes through it, the charge of those minerals in little pockets will hold gases, odors and fumes. You have to occasionally change the filter with carbon or zeolite because they get filled with gas it renders them ineffective.
Electrostatic, and you've seen these advertised on TV. They have flat plates or mesh. As air passes over those plates they’re positively and negatively charged, and that can often disable smoke and odors. They're inexpensive and are washable. The mesh type will not produce ozone. Flat plate electrostatic can sometimes create ozone.
Negative ion is different than ozone. And not an ionizer. A negative ion generator creates negative ions in the air. Negative ions are good for mold, odors and pollution. Negative ions are what the ocean produces, a waterfall produces, and those are actually necessary for our bodies. But they do have an ability to kill odor. No maintenance i. And in the purifier negative ions
go out into the room at a distance to kill odor, etc.. If you live indoors in the winter or have air conditioning on all the time in the summer it's good to have negative ions because AC and also heating of the air indoors creates very dead air. And the difference between really dead air and alive air is really the amount of negative ions in the air.
Ozone is an oxygen molecule (02 ) that's given electrical charge creating 03. The extra third molecule is very unstable which makes it very effective. It’ll actually knock out smoke, odor, and kill mold. I use it for treating a room as needed, because ozone can be very unhealthy. High levels of ozone can irritate lungs.
Mold and mildew. The technologies good for those are negative ion, as I mentioned, electrostatic for odor, and ozone treatment.
HEPA, doesn't kill odor or take odor out of the air, but does gather mold spores.
So HEPA can be effective for mildew and mold smell.
Pet odors - negative ion because it's good for odor removal, but also for the health of your pet.
Electrostatic which can help with some of the odors and also carbon which is collects some of the odors, too. When it comes to like pet urine or pet feces - that's very hard to get out of carpeting or out of floors because it's going to continue unless you have the carpet cleaned.
Cooking - I recommend negative ion, electrostatic, and carbon. Cooking odors aren’t too hard to get rid off.
Chemical odors and fumes, and if you're environmentally sensitive - definitely carbon... And then electrostatic will help for some of that is well. And then also negative ion both for removing some of the odors.
Chimneys - HEPA for particles. Electrostatic for smoke. Carbon to consume some of the smoke, odors. Negative ion for the healthy lungs, and odor..
Here are some odor air purifier suggestions; For mold, mildew - the airpodcleaner MT3C. It’s very affordable at $139 on/off timed ozone, negative ion, carbon for odor, HEPA, for gathering mold spores.
Pet Odors - the 9 stage Alive Air Purifier http://www.aliveair.com. It's used by pet groomers including a pre-filter to gather pet hair and dander. Iwashable. Negative ion for odor and pet health. Carbon for odor. HEPA for dander, dust and pollen. Electrostatic for odor and pollution. UV to kill viruses, germs and bacteria. Ti02. The first 4-5 technologies (of 7) help with the 0dors .Cooking odors either mode and Alive Air has electrostatic. the Alive Air Purifier what's nice about it, it costs $297, but covers over 850 square feet. Affordable replacement filters ($33 HEPA and carbon)
Auto sensors that detect problems in the air.
